I have heard not to eat them but reading other places some people eat a potato occasionally? What do you think?

No I don't, but I'm not much of a potato fan.

I did eat mashed potatoes and gravy when I was on mushies, however.

i choose to limit carbs per my nut's suggestion during losing. So I do not eat potatoes, pasta, bread, rice or sugar. I just want to lose as fas tas possible. I think you will get quit ea few opinions on this.

I eat potatoes. It's all in moderation, and a couple ounces of mashed potatoes didn't make me fat, 4 cups of mashed potatoes 3-4 times a week made me fat.

I didn't eat a lot of them through the losing stage because of the carb count, but in maintenance, I honestly do not deprive myself of anything.

I do but not french fries. I like baked potatoes (baked sweet potatoes are really good to), sauteed potatoes and onions, grilled potatoes.

I would try to stay away from them until you are near or at goal. I eat so little of them that it doesn't really matter I don't think.

I ate them even in the losing stage, but not a lot.  I mean just getting the protein in can be a chore.  So, while I did eat them, it was so little quantity...maybe a bite or two on occasion.  I've never believed in deprivation, but always ate/eat my protein first.  Plus I am of the belief that vegetable carbs aren't that bad.  It's the butter and sour cream that gets slathered on them that makes a potato unhealthy.  So I tend to eat potatoes and corn over bread, rice or pasta.

Sure, why not? I do limit how much I bring into the house because they're an old binge food for me. So if I have mashed potatoes, I buy a small container from the grocery store or eat a couple of fries with a dinner out. But I think I'd go nuts if I tried to deny mysef potatoes for my entire losing stage, which might last another year or more!

I do occassionally but there ARE the one food that makes me vomit so I have to be REAL careful when I do choose to eat them.
