Using a Keurig for Protein Drinks

I'm getting a Keurig  soon as was wondering if anyone has any "recipies" for making a protein drink with the coffees and iced coffees.  Just looking for ideas....

I have the same protein drink every morning for breakfast and am looking to shake it up! Right now I use 1 scoop of Nectar Vanilla Bean protein poweder with 1c skim milk plus 1 packet Startbucks Via instant coffee and 1 cup water amd mix with a blender ball shaker cup.  I'll also add a pump of sugar free vanilla syrup and a dash of cinnamon.  I like iced/cold drinks better than warm and have heard that some protein powders don't do well mixed at warm temperatures.

Thanks!

I have one of those.  I use it for coffee.  My VSG is Wednesday.  I didn't even think about using that for protein drinks.

Unless you make the coffee and chill it I can't think of how to use a Keurig and protein powder as the K water is way to hot to add to protein.

Yeah I have one at work (which I LOVE) but the only thing it's good for is a HOT, FRESH, ONE cup of coffee at a time.  Overpriced for me at home.

I have a Keurig that has an iced tea setting. You basically put in a tall glass filled with ice and brew the tea into the cup. Perhaps you can do the same with protein powder and a decaf coffee?

I am 5 days out of surgery and yesterday I finally went out and bought one of the little mini blenders.  It's like "The Bullet" but an off brand and I love it!  Before the the shakes were clumpy and nasty to drink because I would have chunks of the powder floating around no matter how well I tried to mix it w/ a spoon.  The new mixer makes the shakes frothy and actually looks appetizing.  I think I will use it even after the "shake stage"  for other cooking needs.  I haven't investigated it too much but I think you can do iced coffees also.  Good luck!

I think you'd have to ice the coffee down and then also use something like the Magic Bullet.  In my experience, the blender ball cup has it's limits!

Protein cannot be mixed with something as hot as a frest cup of coffee.  It will clump up. Sorry!

I make protein coffee with my Keurig every morning.

Recipe:
Mix 2-3 tbs your favorite creamer (milk, half & half, FF coffeemate, etc) with 2-3 oz cold water in a large coffee mug (16 oz size)
Blend in 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (I use GNC AMP in chocolate and a battery operated frothing whisk)
Brew your favorite K cup right into your protein creamer (i blend as I brew to eliminate clumping).
Add flavor shot if you want and enjoy!

by mixing the protein with the cold liquid then the hot you temper it so it doesn't curdle

I use a blender ball cup to mix my chocolate protein powder and fill with skim milk just covering the ball. Shake it up good. Then I make my decaf coffee in the Keurig and stir in the protein/milk mixture. Yummy!
