lamisil

Hello Sleevers:

I have been having terrible heartburn.  It dawned on me that I started a new medicine, lamisil for toe fungus.  I called the pharmacy, they said that the meds can cause heartburn.  Be aware, since we only have a 3-4 oz stomach, this med is too harsh for our stomachs.

Please be aware.

Thanks,

Pat

I've been using lamisil for four months but luckily haven't had any problems.

I am glad you are able to take Lamisil.  I guess my stomach is very sensitive.

My PCP put me on it thinking I had a fungal infection when I was 2 1/2 mos. out. Took it less than 2 weeks when I had the same problem. Surgeon said get off - took several weeks for pain to subside. Turns out, it wasn't fungal anyway

Oh my, did you take anything for the pain?  I am taking Maalox and it help a little bit.  The pain is terrible.  I have taken the meds for a week.  Thanks for the email.

I doubled up on my prilosec for maybe a week. Took maalox and tums but I didn't have the typical heartburn. Just a gnawing sensation. Learned to question any medicine I take from now on! Not sure my pcp really thinks about my surgery, but it was my first time to see him after surgery and he was rushed. Hope you get better soon. I assume you are not taking lamisil now?

I take two prilosec in the morning and everning, so I am not sure how many you are taking.  Yes, I have maalox but will pick up some tums tomorrow.  Yes, I usually question the meds since surgery, but boy this is a squeezing of the breast bone - I will be glad when it quits.  thanks,

I had actually quit taking prilosec before the lamisil. Then took 2 per day. Back down to 1. Since I never had real heartburn or acid reflux before surgery, I'm not really sure what qualifies for acid feeling.
