I won't get a tattoo as I have a major aversion to needles of any kind. But if I did it would be a butterfly to symbolize my metamorphosis! Can't wait to see what you decided.
FYI - our tattoo artist tells us the top of the foot is the most painful place to get a tattoo. DH was talked into getting one to represent our grandsons on his foot. While the artist was doing it he asked what the artist has on his foot (he has tattoos all over his arms, neck, etc.). He said he refuses to get one on his foot because it hurts so much!

i was going to get a tattoo when i was 19...  a butterfly on my cleavage...  today it would be a very LONG butterfly...

i am not a proponent of tattoos... especially now that i'm older, i can't help but think of nursing homes full of old, wrinkled people with old, faded, wrinkled tattoos....  but that's just me...

LOL! That is funny Jeris! I look at it this way as I get older my tattoos will tell my nurses and HOT doctors that I had a wild history! What do you think they will say about the personal piercings that only they will see? JUST KIDDING! That would be embarassing.......nurse nurse.........I'd like THAT piercing changed to this one! God I might hope to have dementia but I'm thinking I'll live with my kids!

I remember once when I was a child I saw a woman with really brassy bleached blonde hair, she had a cigarette hanging out of her lips that was about a third ash (dont know how it didn't fall off)  she was probably over 200 lbs easy and not too youthful looking.  Kinda like the stereotypical barfly you see in cartoons.  Anyway she had a tatoo of a bulldog with a spiked collar on her forearm with the word 'KIN' under it.  I think of that every time I hear about someone getting a tattoo.  I think thats why I have an aversion to it. One of my sons is covered with tats, another has a small one on the back of his shoulder.  Both say they wish they had never done it.  My DH and I are both tat free but I have seen some really creative and beautiful ones.  I guess if I were going to get one after weight loss It would be a pin up style beautiful fat girl (like a Vargas girl) reclining in a red circle with a line going diagonally thru it...maybe a banner over or under it with high weight on it and in a beautiful script "Never Again"...

Ive always wanted a tattoo but always wanted to weight till I lost alot of weight. I think Ill wait till I get my surgery and when I hit goal weight Ill treat myself to one :)

Have you thought about where you were going to get it done at?

I have plans for a tattoo once I reach my goal weight (haven't even had surgery yet!! lol) but it's going to be the little thing that movie directors use to start a scene.  You know the thing they slam close and say "Action!"

Underneath it I want it to say "Act Two" and the date of my surgery.

So that's my idea.... if you chose to use it... let me know! I'd love to see a picture!

Fun idea. I know you probably don't want anything with a bathroom  scale image, but a good symbol of what we have done would be a bathroom scale with a peace symbol where the weight readout or dial would be. For the first time in my life I am at peace with my weight.

Of course, if you were really gutsy, (and nuts) you could have a tat on your belly of a depiction of your new skinny stomach as it is now shaped. that would be pretty freaky.

Or how about a single shirt sleeve.

Personally, If I were going to do this, it would simply be the words:   "I WON"   in some cool letters or with an attractive border.

This is fun thinking this stuff up. Right before my surgery I wrote the word "Hi" with a ballpoint pen under one boob since a figured once I was unconscious  some surgical nurse would be cleaning my belly area and taping boobs out of the way and would be amused. No one ever said anything.

ya know, I am not into tats and probably will never get one but I sure could get a T shirt with that image on it!  Think I might.  Diane

You know, I logged on here today to look for you - I've been stalled for a LONG time (3 MONTHS to be exact - and it's my fault of course).  We're kind of similar (I follow you and sleeve genie).  Thought I'd get some inspiration from you - and I did :)  I've been thinking about a tattoo too - on my foot!  I think it'll be a lady bug - haven't seen one I love yet though.....
