Hi, I posted a few days ago about making a care package for a friend that had the sleeve done a few days ago.  I found a lot of fun things to put in the basket.

My question is: are you able to take Tylenol pills post op or do you take liquid?  I use Tylenol Blast, Adult strength liquid just to be careful.  I didn't know if sleeves take the caplets or tabs a few months out?

I bought a few bottles and was going to put that in the care package.

Thanks so much,
Kristi

I have chronic tendonitis in my left Achilles tendon, and I've been taking the Tylenol Rapid Release gel capsules off and on for the past couple of days.  I don't have any problems swallowing them.  I just have to do one at a time, instead of both at the same time like I did before surgery.

They gave me Tylenol pills from day# 2 in the hospital, I cut them up when I got home...The Tylenol Blast sounds good though!! Every surgeon has different thoughts though.

I bought me a pill crusher and have used Tylenol since day three of my surgery.

My office told me to take pills at this point (2 weeks post op) because I don't have issues getting things down and he said the amount of liquid you'd have to take to get the strength I need would be a lot. I usually take 3 tylonols. That's just me tho. I've got Fibromyalgia and a cranky back.

Definitely use Tylenol grape Jr. Chewables!   I hated the narcotic pain medicine and used these as my only post-op pain med.  Can take them from the very first day--taste good and easy to chew.
I would not do pills initially---and sometimes the liquid meds just turn your stomach!

What a nice friend you are!

Thanks for the suggestion of Jr. Chewables!  I never thought of that and it would be better than the liquid.

Each doctor has his own opinion on this.  I was allowed tylenol caplets a couple of days after surgery.  I cut them in half the first few days.  I was able to swallow them whole after that.

Tylenol and tylenol based pain relievers are pretty much the only type you can take with the sleeve from what I've been told.  I have Oxycodone prescribed for pain and I believe it is tylenol based.
