What is dense meat?  I hear a lot of people talking about dense meat, can I get an example??

Chicken, steak, pork, ham, etc. I usually eat baked or roasted chicken meat, 3 ounces at a time. Someone posted once that they buy the rotisserie chickens, cut off all the meat and freeze in 3 oz packages. I've been doing that and it works well for me.

Oh ok...thank you.  Yes, those meats do make me full faster and keep me full.  I will try that rotisserie thing...that sounds like it will work well.  Thanks again!

Hey that sounds like a great idea! The rotisserie chickens are usually nice and moist too!

Thanks!

Steak, chicken, rib meat, pork (especially chops/loin cuts) = dense

Fish, shrimp, scallops (although can be dense for some)= less dense

A less dense meat might be something like ground meat which some people like me can eat more of.

Beef, seafood, fish, chicken, pork. These are all dense protein which fill you up fast with just a small abount and eep you full for a long time

Soft proteins are Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes, beans, cheese. You'll be able to eat more soft protein than dense protein.

For me, a lot of seafoods would not qualify as a dense protein - like not fish that is flaky fish.  When I make tilapia I broil it crispy, THEN it acts like a dense meat, but if I have it steamed or baked, so its still flaky and soft?  Not so dense, does not keep me full long.  ;{
