I am new to your board, but so far have found some great information. Thanks. I am having surgery on Thursday and am excited but nervous. I need to go buy liquids to get started and would love your advice on favorites. I trust that I am making the right decision!

Congrats and good luck..

As far as protein shakes.. It's still hard for me to get them down, but right now I would have to say unjury seems to be my favorite so far..

But I would suggest getting sample packs when researching..

Hope I helped a little..

I see we are only two days apart in surgery, how is it going for you so far?

It's actually going great! I have no pain, I walk a lot just because I think I'm ready to go back to with now (don't like being in the house a lot).

I will say the only issues I'm having is even having a appetite for the protein shakes or any liquid, I just don't want it but today, I wanted to down a while bottle of water and because I knew I couldn't I didn't even want it anymore lolol. My incisions are draining and itching but those are minor things and I'm happy.

How about you? How you holding up?

I am the same way. I have very little pain, just at the largest incision site. I don't any problems with liquids, I was a water lover before the surgery, so that is not the problem. I just try to find other things to add to the water.

It is a bit scary that things are going so smoothly. Next week I go to the my first post op appointment and then move into Pureed food, I hope that goes smooth too!!

I love the Pacific Natural brand soups.  Found at health food stores.  I'm not sure if this is a Pacific NW thing...  Try online.  Great varieties.  The never fail is chicken broth, sugar free jello and crystal light.

I like the Sobe Life Water with electrolytes. I also like vitamin water zero. Alot of my friends like Poweraide Zero but it is awefully sweet to me. My surgeon sells protien shakes and I really like the chicken bouillon, tomato soup, cappacino, and hot cocoa. They also have protien jello and fruit drinks. They are all good. You can order them online at www.weightwise.com

I do have to thin the protien drinks out a little because my taste buds are really sensitive now. I have not figured out other protien drinks because I got enough from my surgeon before I left the hospital.

Good luck!

I get protein shakes from my surgeon, but you can order them at www.drdiet.com. Also I like the single packets of SF Hawaiian Punch, it's better than water alone sometimes. I am just a week and a half post op and I know how you feel. But I have really not had a horrible experience yet. And good luck on Thursday!!
