Crab cakes?

Go to eggface's blog, theworldaccordingtoeggface.com, and look up her recipe for crab and shrimp cakes.  They're wonderful and better than almost anything you'll get out of a restaurant - certainly better than anything you'll buy frozen.

Most stores sell cartons of pastuerized lump crabmeat, which is as good as you can get short of picking the meat out of the crabs yourself!  Mash an avocado, mix in some seasoning, and then put the crabmeat on top.  Absolutely wonderful, easy to make, full of protein and good fat.

I also think you should order them in a restaurant and share them with someone first :)  Outback Steakhouse has amazing crab cakes.  Red Lobster and Ruby Tuesdays has them too but I've yet to try them (though I want to).

I've ben in a real crab cake kick lately.  When we buy them we get them from the seafood department at the grocery store.  They're not frozen and pre-cooked.  All you have to do is heat them up and there should be heating instructions on the packaging :)  I personally like popping mine in the toaster oven and top it with a little Miracle Whip Light and a tiny bit of honey dijon mustard, YUM!
