I'm going to eat pizza 7 days post op...what will happen?
I don't really think you are serious about eating pizza - just being a bit facetious. I know what you mean about being hungry. I was STARVING when I first had my surgery - absolutely starving. You can search my posts. The first month is the hardest - and I mean that. Now, it is a piece of cake - pardon the pun! I am 1 pound away from goal and am doing fantasic. Stick to the plan - drink your protein drinks - it is hard - but stick with it! After a month, you will be fine and you will be so happy with yourself and your weight loss - TRUST ME!!

From what I've learned from my time post-op... cravings/head hunger is going to happen... I was no where near ready now when I look back to deal with them...
Keep yourself on your plan.. Don't jump ahead just because you're hungry or have cravings. In the end your body is going to thank you for it. If you're feeling hungry drink some water or choose something that is on your plan at this stage..
Don't let that craving get the best of you!!!!

I had terrible raving hunger the first week post-op. Turns out a lot of it was related to excess acid. Are you on a PPI? If so, perhaps talk to your doctor about increasing the dosage. That really helped me and I have learned that I often confuse excess acid and thirst with hunger. So try addressing those two things before you assume it's real hunger. Hope that helps and hugs.. I know it's rough in the beginning.

I craved pizza for over a week after my surgery. Not sure why it was pizza, but that's what I wanted. But I was way more worried about messing up my staple line. And it kept me on track during my three week post-surgery liquid diet (after going through a three-week pre-op liquid diet.) Believe me, I was PLENTY sick of liquids! But there was no way in hell I was going to do anything to jeapardize my new tummy.
Please let yourself heal, that is the most important thing. Cravings come and go. After my pizza crazing, I had a craving for steak, then other stuff. My thing is that I don't avoid food. I watch people eat, I ask people what they eat, I watch the yummy food commercials, etc. I am trying to accept that there is a world of food out there, but that doesn't mean I have to always indulge. And sometimes I can even have a litte treat!

Bread is probably not the first real food you want to eat.. I was not even allowed to try bread until 6 weeks out.. You stomach is still swollen so stick to your planned diet.. the reason you do not get that full feeling is because your still on liquids and they pretty much run right through you..
I still dont get a full feeling like I am stuffed..I start to hiccup when I have eaten enough.. and If I try to eat anymore I usually get that stuck feeling and have to puke it up..
This is mind over body situtation.. you head is still going to want all the tasty foods.. but trust me there could be all kinds of complications if you try to ru**** just because someone else got away with it without problems does not mean you will..

Food cravings don't go away instantly. Your body has a store of ghrellin, plus cravings are at least as much mental as they are physical, and you obviously were not prepared mentally for your surgery.
You can eat pizza without worrying about a leak. Eating will NOT cause a leak, contrary to what some people might tell you.
BUT, it will likely make you very, very sick to your stomach. And vomiting CAN cause major problems. It could easily set back your ability to eat solids for quite a while.
You would be demonstrating that your cravings control you, instead of you controlling yourself. Is your committment so poor, your ability to control yourself so weak that you can't stand a week?
