Yeah now that you mention it,  i'm hungry a lot :o(  i don't always get in all my water.  I think i'll try getting a drink first and see if it helps.   I'm pretty disapointed with myself right now.  Only lost about 15 lbs in the past several months.   Not sure what to do.  i've been thinking about going back to basics and doing the shakes again.  Maybe when all my perishables are gone from the fridge.   I think you're doing great sweetie  :o) Jeani

Did the water help?  try it for a whole day and see what happens... I was kind of surprised and it made sense to me that i was thirsty and actually eating. And today I figured out that sipping all day like I did in the beginning helps too.  weird how I let that go....

Awwww I hear you....  about the 15.   Going back to basics sounds like a good idea.
" come on Jeani...  you can do it!"     Your actually one of my mentors here....  and a sweetie!

I'm four months post-op and can eat a lot more then I could at 2 months out.  I usually use measuring cups for dense protein.  At this point I can easily eat 1/3 cup plus some veggies.  I had homemade chicken/noodles (gasp!) for lunch and ate 1/2 cup.  Yesterday over about half an hour I ate an entire can of tuna (with mayo) plus 13 All Bran crackers (they're small).  No, of course I shouldn't have done that.  Normally half of that satisfies me.

I believe I can eat more than most (or so it seems).  Two things...One...I HAVE NOT lost my hunger and two...I'm still breastfeeding my son so this perhaps makes me hungrier.

I think you're doing great so no worries, girl.  Also it only makes sense to me that exercise makes one hungrier.  Wouldn't you agree?

I think you're doing really fabulous, and honestly, I think that the VSG is no more disciplined required than RNY surgery patients.

Every single WLS patient has different food demons and issues. I personally am not an emotional eater, nor am I sensitive to carbs, or junk food so I found losing excessively and disgustingly easy to lose weight. Maintenance is the tricky part. Long term, losing becomes a distant memory and trying to keep your head and hand out the proverbial cookie jar is where the real battle lies.

So, in my opinion, if you compare your struggles with anyone else's, you are going to find there's someone out there that has it assloads easier, and others that have far more struggles. This journey is yours and yours alone, and you are in 100% control of how you want to work it.

As for cravings, during my losing stage, I had little to zero cravings. I lost my appetite along with my hunger so it really helped me through the losing stage. Now that I'm pregnant, you wanna talk cravings, and trying to keep my body in the best shape for the pregnancy, and for my dietary needs? ? ? Get a pencil because what I crave is just about the most horrific foods you could imagine. However, the sleeve makes this situation much more manageable at this point. I crave Thai, Mexican, and barbque at a minimum of 5 times per week. So, how do I make the "best" choice when these insane craving**** I eat protein first, and then I eat what else I can fit in. I also crave salad and creamed spinach, and I can eat an entire cup of creamed spinach, and I eat it weekly. There's days I crave Funyun and salt/vinegar chips, I eat them, but in moderation. So, for me it's about balancing everything. I did the same thing before pregnancy, but throw in the pregnancy hormones, and for the love of everything holy, my poor husband has ran to KFC twice for me because I HAD TO have fried chicken. I hadn't eaten fried chicken in almost 2 years. So, my point is that you know what works for you, keep doing it, don't compare yourself to others, and remember that you're in it for the long haul. Congrats on getting halfway to goal, that is an amazing accomplishment ! ! !
