1 month surgversary!
I don't post often, but I read EVERY DAY! And first I want to say thank you to all of you that didn't even know you've been helping me through this whole process. THANK YOU!!
I was sleeved on 3/11/11 in Mexicali, Mexico with Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos. This was by far the easiest and hardest decision I have ever made and I would do it over again in a heartbeat! I'm down 33lbs (9 pre-op) 24 since surgery.
NSV's:
My watch is too big and needs to have a link removed (I haven't taken it out yet though because I like how big it feels ).
I can fit into pants that haven't fit me in 6 months.
I have sorted out my closet 3 times moving all of the clothes that I can wear now to the front.
I can wear all of my dresses to work again (i'm a teacher).
My sandals feel bigger.
I can criss-cross my legs when i'm sitting on the couch for extended periods of time.
My boyfriend is making a conscience effort to get rid of those "last 20 lbs".
I can feel my collar bone.
My boobs have gotten smaller (my boyfriend does not consider this one a victory!).
Insights:
This is not the easy way out (and I feel bad for anyone that decides to try and tell me it is, watch out!)
The more water you drink, the better you lose.
Sometimes hiding the scale is necessary to make it through the week without having a meltdown.
Measuring food is a very smart idea.
A food scale and mini-processor are good, too.
Stock up on plastic containers, THERE WILL BE LEFTOVERS.
Except the fact that you will have to throw food away.
Things will spoil before you can eat it all.
Surgery will not make your bad food habits go away. Creating new good food habits will help though.
This is a life-long journey and expecting things to change over night is crazy! I love my OH family and Thank You once again for helping me get through my journey!
Heather
