Going shopping 2nite. Please help
I need to know what I need to get for the first couple of weeks I am back. What were you drinking at that point? Can you have jello or do you have to wait a couple of weeks?
Im trying to get everything together this week and next week so it wont be a pain when I get home from surgery.
Also, with protein drinks the first 2 weeks what did you drink? I cant stand Isopure. Thanks for your help!

Surgery Date: 4/27/11 Dr. Aceves

This is what I lived on for the first week.
1.) Protein shakes- I love Chike Banana Magic
2.) Water
3.) Crystal light packets
4.) Chicken/Beef Broth
5.) Shaker Bottles for Protein Drinks
6.) 1oz shot glass ( I tried to drink one of these every 15-20 minutes)
7.) Gatorade (only used for first two days for hydration, after that it has too much sugar)
That's about all I can think of right now. This list was just for clear liquids. You can add some soups too as you get into full liquids.
Hope this helps!

I had clear liquids the first week, which included Jello--sugar free. Weeks 2 and 3 were full liquids; cream soups, protein shakes, instant breakfasts in milk (again, sugar free) and of course lots and lots of water. I love the Sobe zero calorie fruit drinks--tons of flavor, no calories, but not too sweet. Found I disliked sweets after surgery, although a taste now and then is better now that I'm 7 weeks out--especially fruits. Fuse makes some 0 calorie/no carb fruit drinks that are good too. Anything to break the Chocolate, Vanilla, Water, repeat cycle!
I liked the instant breakfasts OK, and pretty much lived on those, the Atkins shakes and Slim Fast (Low Carb). They were less expensive than the others I found, and gave me the protein I needed without having to have more than 3 or 4 in a day.
Don't forget smooth yogurt still counts as a full liquid, and if you get the greek yogurts, they have twice as much protein in them. I found one to be a little tart, but a tiny drizzle of honey, or some Splenda made it taste great.
Take care, and let us know how you're doing.
