Update on my pain

I went for an ultrasound on Friday and it came back normal.  So they still don't know what is causing the pain.  It isn't getting any better.  So I'm not sure what the next step is now.

Also, this is week 3 that my stupid scale has not moved.  So did I really just have surgery to lose 27lbs??  WTH???

Hey! I remember you posting about this... WTH??  they can't figure it out?  Did ya read that other gals...post...gosh Im terrible I can't remember her screen name... on pain pumps at main incision site? perhaps you too?  Maybe scroll back some and see if you can find it.  Are ya still takin yer pain meds?....that's terrible your surgeon is just leaving you hanging like this!!...didn't tell you anything on what to expect or what to do NEXT. Keep calling him!! Like to see how he handles fricken acute or chronic pain from his handiwork what an asshole!

N you haven't lost ANY weight in 3 weeks!  I know the 3 week stall is a big-un...Maybe you too?
when we're losing inches not pounds. Have ya measured yerself at least to compare yer pre/just post op measurements? concrete evidence yer sleeve is workin!! Im afraid the 3 week stall...can't do much about it...dietary restrictions. Stay on program tho! It'll pass...yer VSG has got yer back. PATIENCE!! This is a MARATHON not a SPRINT...yer gonna see it/ remind yerself of it/ experience it over n over till ya get it embedded in yer noodle!!

On stalls n plateaus ...got a few more comin up. read more on what to expect.

Thanks Carmelita!!  I just don't know what to do...about the pain or the stall!  I did measure two weeks ago and had lost 6 inches.  I'm going to measure again.  Maybe I've lost more inches.  Because people are starting to really notice the loss.

I did read about that girl with the pain from the pump.  I did not have a pump though.  So I'm going to call the Dr. again today and see what he wants to do next.  I can't live like this.  I can't lift anything, I can barely move when standing.  So I'll let ya know what he says.

Thanks again!

LOL - I was the gal with the pain pump (On Q).    In addition to that, I had managed to irratate a muscle just beneath the main incision.  Did they happen to explore that avenue?  Also, what about scar tissue?

they haven't explored that.  I just got off the phone with them and my dr is running the Boston Marathon at the moment and can't help me.  GREAT!!!  So they want me to go to the ER.  I do not want to go to the ER.  I hate the ER!!!!  So I don't know what to do now.

Wow - surprised he doesn't have a PA or anyone else filling in for him.  I did actually go to the ER on Day 6 post op.  They did a CT scan and discovered a bruised liver from the WLS (which, i guess, can happen with this kind of surgery since they have to move that organ around so much).  I'm thinking it can't be something too serious or you'd have other signs and symptoms, so think positive on this.  The other good thing that came out of the ER was stronger pain meds.  I was given morphine thru the IV while there and sent home with a script for hydromorphine.  I was finally able to sleep, and rest means healing.  It made a huge difference in recovery.  Also, if you are going, I'd go during business hours so that the on call physician at the ER can converse with your doc's office, even if the doc is out running his marathon.  Keep us posted.....
