Hi everyone!

Well I started this journey going towards RNY  and have changed my mind to VSG.  I have an appointment tomorrow to discuss VSG.   I  would like to know what questions you asked at your first appointment with your surgeon/clinic staff?   I have a list of questions, of course and I did my research.  Thanks bunches

I would find out what size bogie- my doc used a 32.  How much weight he expects you to lose before surgery.  How long is he usually booked out for surgeries- a week or a couple months?  Pre-op diet specifications.  Post-op diet specifications.  Which hospital you'll be using- depends on his affiliation and your insurance co.  How long he suggests you take off work if you do work.  Support groups available?  Dietician available?  That's about all I can think of, but you probably have all of these already!

Hey Becca...ya did yer research, ya have yer questions...have ya gone to yer surgeon's WLS seminar yet?

IF yer going VSG ya MUST STRESS reasons you prefer it.
Doc..Im seriously considering the VSG as the best WLS for me because__________________

What are your thoughts on VSG as a wls for me
How much weight loss can I expect to achieve the first year
How many VSGs have ya done
What is yer complications rate
HOW and WHEN do you test for LEAKS
How do you REINFORCE the STAPLE LINE to prevent leaks.
How do you size the sleeve
What size Bougie do you prefer, reasons and do I have a choice if I don't agree
What lab schedule will I be expected to comply with the first year.
What is the best way to reach you if I have a post surgical emergency or complaint.

alls I can think of...n prolly whatever everyone else says ..sorry if its redundant

N If yer anything like when I had my consult...I wrote my questions down...but didn't write the answers down! My head was spinnin, I was so nervous...hell I never done this before! ...and I forgot almost all what my surgeon said!  I was HAWT FOR SURGEON!! he's sooo frikken handsome lmao... Thank goodness I had my DH with me tho..not to stop me from daydreamin about my surgeon playing volleyball in some BayWatch swim trunks on the beach lolol (my surgery was in Orange Co. CA)  ...but so he could tell me what was said!!! So take an INTERPRETER with ya! lolol

LOL! @ your hot doctor.    My silly self, I was excited they had an opening so soon, I just took it. Didnt even check the calendar to see if hubby was off or not.  He has to work, as my appt is today. So I am flying solo today. But all will be well.   I have my questions written down and space for answers. I watched the seminar online.    Thanks everyone for your responses.
