Scales

Did anyone buy new scales?   If so, what kind do you recommend?   We have regular floor scales, and everytime we step on them, we weigh differently.   I am thinking I want to get some good, Dr.'s scales, but don't know which ones.

Currently I am very furstrated as I don't seem to be losing after the surgery.   I am getting my protein and water in daily, as well as my vitamins and calcuim.    Starting yesterday I upped my protein and water to see if that changes anything.

When I went for my 2 week followup, I had lost 7#.   I went to the hospital this AM for bloodwork and their scales show the same as I was last Thursday.   Different hospital/scales, but probably accurate.

I don't have any recommendations for scales, but I am experiencing the same type of weight loss you are describing above.  I feel your frustration.  I stalled 5 days after surgery for 2 weeks.

I know everyone says not to worry about the scales at first, just get your protein and water in.   And, I understand stalls, but still it is SO frustrating!!!   I hear you!

Hey! We had the same surgeon! Love Dr Pfluke!!  I bought a really nice scale at Kohls...not sure of the brand but it's digital and it gives you weight to the ounce.  Example 193.6 - it also gives BMI.  I go see Dr Pfluke Thursday for my 3 month follow up!!

I was there last Thursday and will go again next Thursday.   I love Dr. Pfluke, too, but did not get to see him last week.
Good luck on your 3 mo. follow up!!!

I bought the Tanita HD 351 http://www.amazon.com/Tanita-HD351-Digital-Memory-Function/dp/B0000U6F2M and it works well.  It has 5 memory settings for members of your family and stores your weight from the previous session.  It is also flat and wide (I have sizeable feet and I can fit them on there) and goes up to 450 pounds I believe.   Check out the reviews online, this scale received 4.5 out of 5 stars and have amassed over 130 reviews.  I've had this scale for 3 years and it still works well.

I got "The Biggest Losers" scale for 30.00 and have been happy with it.  In addition to body weight it also gives you an approximation of your fat%, muscle%, water%, and BMI (you have to do that with your shoes off).  I doubt the extra stuff is 100% accurate, but it gives you an excellent baseline.

The body weight measurements are very consistent and repeatable.

I have the Jenny Craig Tanita scale. I really like it, but it is expensive (about $100). It is VERY consistent and accurate.
