Sounds like those vets know what they are talking about but you also mention you take meds for depression.

Are you taking them? Maybe they are being absorbed differently?

Just throwing that out there as well.

It is tough mentally to adjust to the strictness of the diet but you can do it. And yes, your depression can get worse from the food deprivation. Many of us were more moody and depressed post-op.

You will pull through and these next few weeks will be a distant memory..

 I'm on depression meds so I understand.  The worst for me was the first month because I'm extroverted and couldn't get out and see people because I was in so much pain.  What worked for me was in the middle of week 5 when the pain went away I was out the door seeing my friends, going for walks and just enjoying life.  It gets easier!

I haven't had my sleeve yet, but two years ago I had spine fusion surgery and my anti-depressants had to be increased post-surgery. My doc said that is pretty normal. You may want to ask about that. Hang in there..it will get better
