What Does Weight Lost Mean To You?
My weight loss means I've got a shot at a longer, happier, more productive life in retirement.
I'm 65, I've worked hard for many years to earn a comfortable retirement. Now, my chances for enjoying that nice home, wonderful wife, great family and friends - all of that has improved by leaps and bounds because of my weight loss journey.
GONE: Diabetes.
GONE: High blood pressure.
GONE: Sleep Apnea.
GONE: Lethargy & grouchiness
GONE: 130 LBS. IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS!
I've still got 45 lbs. to lose to make it to my "goal weight," but I have strong hunch that won't be where this stops - I'll probably trade in that original goal for another one.
I walked 18 holes on the golf course this a.m.; I'm doing that 2 or 3 times per week now, and my game is improving. I exercise every single day and I feel great doing it. I sleep like a baby and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go.
The pride I sense from my family, friends and neighbors is fantastic! They have all been a part of this journey from the initial decision phase, and the sense of shared-purpose has often been the motivation to keep going when it was hard. My weight loss is literally unvieling a new me; more vigorous, but less driven, still conservative, but more open to new things and new ideas. I like my life so much more now - it was not bad before, but it was limited by my obesity - now I don't feel any constraints on what I can do. Aces! My life is Aces!
