Hello Everyone,

I heard that Oh Yeah protein drinks are great. But is it okay as far as trying to meet everyday protein requirements?

I usually use protein powders - but the Oh Yeah are my favorite pre-mixed. Totally ok to use for protein requirements.

Hint: The vanilla and chocolate flavors are exra delicious with a spoonful of instant coffee added and shaken well!

Thanks. I tried Banana Creme and it reminded me of banana pudding. I may alternate them between Nectar.

I Used the OH Yeah Protein powders during pre-op and I loved them.  The only thing I would caution about them post-op is that they are a little higher in calories than the other protein powders like Nectar, Body Fortress, About Time, Jay Robb, etc.  They have about 210 calories whereas the others usually only have 120-130 max.  This calorie total is mixed with water so if you mix it with skim milk or something else the calories are even higher.  I do ocassionally use the 8 oz. ready-to-drink in a pinch if I'm on the run.  They have 18 gr of protein and 130 calories which the protein to calorie ratio still isn't as good as some others that have 25 gr of protein for the same amount of calories but hey I guess it is whatever works for you. I would have to say Oh Yeah are the best tasting protein shakes of any that I have tried and I have tried several.  Good luck!

I am two and half months out and I still have two a day.  I have one for breakfast, a small lunch(what meal isn't small, lol) and then another mid day before my workout and then have supper later on in the day.  Having two a day give me 64g of protein without anything else.  I do work out so this help in my calorie intake as they are 220calories.  If you are not going to work out, I would suggest something lower in calories.  I have been averaging about three pounds a week so I do not feel that they have affected my weight loss.  They are a little thick so I did not start drinking them until I was about almost two months out. I don't think you could get much of them down early on becuase of their thickness, but I agree they are super yummy and they best ones that I have tasted to date.  I love the chocolate and the vanilla! Good luck on your journey!

I hope so cause I love them! I'm still preop but I drink Oh Yeah daily. I tried pure protein and muscle milk but didn't like them. Any others that are as good as Oh Yeah out there? the cookies and cream and strawberry ones are good too!

Nectar is good. Just get a sample pack first to try all the flavor before you buy it.

The LapBand doctor I was going to first recommended them. But the sleeve doctor I'm going to now says to just use whey isolate the month after surgery. Oh Yeah is not all whey isolate. After that when I'm eating other foods it's OK to use any of the protein powders that I like. I haven't tried Oh Yeah but I've heard good things about it.
