Eating Everything In Sight!

Is this normal? I am not about 3 weeks away from surgery (June 6) and it seems as if I've been eating everything in sight. I know that by the end of this week, I have to start my 2 week Pre-Op liquid diet, but right now I feel like a complete GLUTTON!!!!  Again, I ask....IS THIS NORMAL??? Please share with me, because I feel so guilty and I keep telling myself daily that I'm going to do better!!

My surgery is tomorrow, and before I started my 2 week liquid diet, I had a terrible case of Last Supper Syndrome. lol. I think most people get it to some degree... I felt like I was never going to be able to eat again, which I know isnt true. Just try to remember that while you will not be able to eat the same quantity that you eat now, you will eventually be able to enjoy food again. Even now, on my liquid diet, while I was in the store yesterday, I kept seeing things, and thinking, Oh I wish I would have eaten that! lol.

I asked the SAME question about 2 weeks ago and EVERYONE did the same thing!  I was so relieved! lol  I have been eating all those "addictions" that I have...Starbucks, WAAAAY too much soda, granola bars, popcorn...if it is food, it is game!

I call it "fat row"...it is the death of my fat self and this is my last meal! lol  My poor husband is gaining weight because of it too so he is going on the pre-op diet with me to lose what he is gaining on "fat row" as a cell mate! lol

You are completely normal...just remember, what you put on you still have to take off!!!

Completely normal! I even took a picture of what I ate for dinner the night before my pre op diet - we went to BJ's and I got pizza, soda and dessert! Damn it was good!!  Not as good as losing 51 pounds feels though!! Just you wait!!  Lol!!
Hugs! Kris

I'm a Mexican food fanatic....those Fajita Nachos were going to be the DEATH of me. So, last night, I made certain I had those (I start my 2 wk Pre-Op diet this upcoming Saturday). So, I plan to go to Bone Fish & Grill tomorrow so that I can eat my favorites before having to start the Pre-Op diet. I thought I was going crazy. I felt as if I were eating more now that I know I'm gettting ready to have the surgery, than when I didn't know that I would be having it. I am relieved to know that this is somewhat "normal" or at least that I am not the only one who feels as if I have to EAT!! I know that the way that I eat now as well as for the last 28 years is getting ready to change forever. I know one I have this surgery, I REFUSE to let anything stand in the way of setting and meeting my personal goals. So, BON APPETIT!! LMBO!!

Thanks for the replies!! You all are the BEST!!!!

I did that too! My co-worker took me to Red Lobster for my "last meal" and I had steak and took a picture of my last meal. lol. Even had cheesecake. I gained 3 pounds between my approval date and pre-op diet. I think alot of us do that. It's okay because it will come off after surgery.

Girl, I did the same thing!  I just started my pre-op yesterday but last week was Fat Tuesday every day.  I chose to not beat myself up for it.  I wasn't binging but I was enjoying myself.  Best of luck to you next week... keep posting, I'd love to see your progress!

I did too.  I think I went out to eat at all my favorite restraunts that entire week.  Enjoy it because the first 2 months you can't eat hardly anything.  But by 4-6 months you can easily go out to eat again.  good luck
