So why don't you go back on protein shakes? Many people do that for a five day pouch test deal. Maybe you can get things back on track that way. In fact I am going to do that starting tomorrow morning. 3 shakes a day, lots of fluids and I am gonna see what happens. Just want to get my last 3.5 lbs gone and to sort of cleanse my system from the rut I am in.
Hope it wil work, if figure it can't hurt.

What you eat/drink plays a much bigger part in how well you lose over exercise, and I bet there's something in your diet you could tweak to help you out. I wouldn't up your calories at all.. I'd rather look at the quality of your intake first. Can you share what you are eating/drinking in detail? I'd be happy to analyze and make recommendations if you like. Hugs..

OK - deep breath! I know how annoying this is, but it almost surely is all water. (Unless you have been eating more than 3500 excess calories a day - which I suspect is NOT the case!) When you start to exercise more intensely, your muscles go through a process of minute tears and then rebuilding of muscle fiber - this is what causes our muscle tissue to enlarge. This tearing/healing process requires water and you will retain some for a while. If you have increased your carbs after being on a reduced carb regime, you will also acquire some water weight from that, as water is needed for glycogen storage.
You need quality calories and protein for exercise and for general health. (Most plans call for somewhere between 600-1000 calories a day for weight loss stage.) Focus on your process - eating well and mindfully, moving your body in ways that challenge you and feel good, and getting in lots of fluids. The more you drink, the faster your body can move fat out of your body.
Make sure that you take measurements as the scale lies when it comes to fat loss, which is really the goal. Usuallly when I am in a stall, I am losing lots of inches, and I have had plently of stalls! They suck! They also pass!
Reward yourself for functional and behavioural goals - things you can do at the gym this week that you couldn't do last week, staying mindful about eating etc. This is a long, long process - I am still working it at 15 months out and anticipate many more months if not a lifetime of paying more attention than I had been used to paying - to my body, to food, to physicalactivity etc. If you let the scale rock your world, you will spend a lot of time feeling pretty pissed off and frustrated.
Hang in there!!!!

Oh sweetie, stalls suck big time no **** I have had 3 stalls that lasted 2 months each, very frustrating, but i just tell myself this is a journey not a marathon and i will get there and so will you, just maybe not as fast as we would like, but you are doing good, just keep doing the right things and it will pay off :o) jeani
