NEED HELP
Hi All,
Does anyone have or know were I can get receipes with proten. I am getting so sick of the shakes, they make me want to throw up and so does water. I take a pill so I can hold down what I have eaten. I don't know what to do, really worried. Has anyone went throw this and then be able to eat later. I am not getting much water or proten in, makes me very sick.

I personally have never found a powdered protein I like, but many OHers have. If you find one that you like, you can add protein powder to almost anything to boost your intake. Some also make a variety of fruit smoothies with added protein poweder, which may help.
Also, I started drinking the EAS Myoplex original shakes myself post-op. They're 17 oz, but one shake has 42 g protein. If I drank just 2 a day, I'd get all my daily protein in (80-100g/day). I found I could tolerate 2 of them every day much better than the 4 or 5 of anything else that was out there.

What do you like to eat ? And what sounds like it will appeal to you ? At a month out, I ate a ton of egg salad. I added different salad dressings to a mushed up egg to make it taste different ! Same with mushie chicken salad. And the same with tuna salad. I also liked ricotta cheese warm with different things in it -- sweet with some fruit spread; savory with some tomato sauce and herbs to pretend it was lasagna !
Try adding an ounce of fruit juice to a cup of water -- cranberry, mango, peach.....whatever sounds good to you. the extra couple calories isn't going to hurt - and you need your fluid.

Yep went through this. Could not tolerate shakes at all. Nut told me drink carnation instant breakfast sugar free with 1/2% milk. Cream soups. Cottage cheese you can blend it or chew it really good. I going to get ding for this but I drank choc milk it has 9 grams of protein per cup of milk. I don't like reg milk. I ate 1/4 cup of shredded cheese chewed well. My main concern was protein and fluids. As long as I was losing I wasn't concerned about calories like I am now. Flat soda, flavored water. You will be able to eat later. I am in a holding pattern right now chicken is tolerated well but not other meat which being 4 mos out I should be able to eat more meat.
