I just saw the surgeon today and I was informed that I will have a date in about 2 to 3 weeks,  OMG I am so nervous but I believe I am ready.  I have changed my mind like a thousand times, but I am sure I am going to do this.  I have so much information.  I enjoy hearing everyones stories.  It keeps me motivated.

I am not sure how long I should take off work. I hear folk saying 1 week but then I hear them say they should have taken two weeks off.

Now I know what butterflies feels like in your stomach!

I remember those butterflies well!  Be a peace - you did your research, you know that this is a chance to improve your life,  you CAN DO THIS!

I had my surgery on 6/1.  It wasn't too bad - it is major surgery tho, so does take a toll on your body.  Each day I feel a little better and learn a little more about the new me.  And I have lost 11 pounds since 6/1 - I am ounces away from being under 300 lbs for the first time in YEARS!  I LOVE my sleeve!

Good luck!

Congrats! You will do great! Funny how it takes so long to get through the pre-op junk and then WAM! Your surgery in in a few weeks!

Through all of this though I have realized I am the most UNPATIENT person I know!

Glad you are almost there though! Keep us updated!!!

I know, you are so right LeePie.  I find myself being inpatient as well, but at the same time I really snuck up quickly.  I was talking to a friend and he said once you see the surgeon you get a call from pre-op about 2 to 3 weeks later and you get a date, just like that. OMG this is actually going to happen!

Thanks for the encouraging words

I am so excited for you.  I am glad to hear the time goes fast.  i have just started my 3 month required nutritionist program.  I am have scheduled all my preop testing and it seems like it will never end.  I have so many doctor appointments I had to make a grid in excel to keep track of them all.  Hope it goes as fast for me.

My doctor recommends 3 weeks off from work, not because your body requires it but because he wants to give you time to adjust to your new lifestyle.

good luck!

Thank you Jerseygirl.  I will keep that time frame in mind, and GOOD LUCK to you too!

It's so hard not to think about but the time will go fast.
