I have been accused of tracking everything to death :} but moods is another thing I track, because not having a cycle doesnt mean you dont have fluctations in hormones, and its much easier to KNOW what's coming at you, so you can set yourself up for success, start pushing optimum nutrition and prepare yourself by telling yourself HOW I FEEL DOESNT REFLECT THE REALITY OF ALL SITUATIONS.

You only fail when you stop putting one foot in front of the other.  Its only too late the moment after you draw your last breath.

Couple of observation/questions/ponders

The way I feel, I dont know how to get back on track. *for me* I had to learn that how I FELT did not have to be the factor about WHAT I DO.  I can ACT differently than I feel.  Acting how I felt to act got me pushing 300 pounds.  Being guided by my feelings, as opposed to what is REAL, TRUE, SOLID, BENEFICIAL TO ME is trouble,  for me.

You *know* what folks will say, drop the stuff that you are consuming to change your mood - go back to your optimal nutrition.  For me, this means making sure I eat every 3 hours, and pushing protein and fluids. If I have been eating things that I have let be my master - then I am going to have a period of time where I am going to jones, mentally/possibly physically for these things.  THESE ARE JUST FEELINGS, THEY WILL NOT LAST, THEY WILL NOT KILL ME.  And then next time all of this shows up and my hands reach for foods that arent optimum nutrition, but foods that I am using to change my body chemistry, I will get to ask myself IS THIS WORTH THE PRICE YOU WILL PAY LATER, BABYGIRL?  Sometimes I might answer that I dont care - but that isnt true.  If I go back and read about me having to white knuckle to get the funk out of my system, I will remember, and more times than not, I will make a better choice to COMFORT  me this time.  Comfort foods shouldnt cause you distress ultimately.

I am questioning my process.   What process are you talking about?

Maybe you do, or maybe you dont know, but I *really* find these times to be excellent teachable moments.

Learn to see yourself compassionately, where your tender/fragile spots are, and then set yourself up for success for the next time.  Because as long as you are breathing, babygirl There *will* be a next time.

Be good to you, not indulgent, but good!

BL: De Ja Vu conversation...but one I needed to see in WORDS not just hear from your sweet mouth! See the WORDS helps solidify things in my BRAIN!

To the OP: After my "experiment of one"...I will say that I dont think *for me* it was worth the NINE pounds of BLOAT I came home with after my girls weekend of fun...aka eating crappy carbs with wild abandon!

It scares me bc I dont feel like my sleeve was of any real help once I CHOSE to say "Fuck it" Im WAY too smart to let my sleeve stand in the way of me and some salt rimmed bloody marys and a bowl full of Doritos!

I followed some REALLY wise advice and came home..veered myself back to the middle of the road and I am trying not to react to my freak out...

I am freaked, but like BL said..that is a FEELING...I dont have to react to it and go crazy beating myself up..and neither should you..

Good luck! We can do this...it just aint "EASY" Go figure!

Don't beat yourself up..we all have days or periods of time when we go off..we just need to get right back on program and it will come off.  And drink the water!!   Just get back on the program and keep going.  Before surgery..a bad eating day would turn into a bad eating season!!  Now we have learned and don't that happen....we are human!  Your process is good..look at how much you have lost already..you can do this!  Go get em!!

Girl - been going thru the same and did see a 3lb gain due to stress, a mega wine festival, and birthday party we went to over the weekend.  But I put my booty back in gear and those 3 lbs are gone again.  You can do this!!!!  And yes, being honest about it is KEY
