First off, thank you OH posters, you tubers, cyber friends and all. I am finally at that stage where I know this is going to happen. I had to make people do their jobs throughout this whole process (from my PCP,surgeon coordinator, the missing in action finance lady and the insurance company that told me I was approved and then took it back saying they mixed me up w another person with my name).

I got the call today that I have to be there Friday at 5:30! (good grief I am so cranky in the morning!) Surgery is at 7:30. Does prep take 2 hours? I did not have to do a pre op diet but I have been on protein drinks 2x a day. Tomorrow is clear liquid day.

I'm really excited to start my new journey!

Yeah - you are gonna rock this!!!!  I had to be in at 545 - and it did take about 2 hours.  1st you'll check in along with several others.  They'll take you in the back and have you gown up, use the bathroom if you need to and get "comfy".  Then they'll hook up the iv and compression hose Iif your dr uses).  Then 20 questions by a bunch of different people - talk with surg, anesth, etc.  wheel to operating suite move to table - night night!  (at least that was my experience.)

Good luck!

Congrats... It did take about that long for them to prep, plus you are waiting for everyone else to get there too, the surgeon, nurses, anesthesiologist...really once you get to the hospital everything goes by in a flash and before you know it you are being wheeled into surgery...I don't think it actually hit me that I was having surgery until I was in that surgery room lol. You got this girl.

Ok, I'm pretty kooky but I thought it was just me with a delayed reaction. I am so excited that I am not nervous at all. I'm pretty stubborn once I make up my mind to do something and I have had minor surgery before so that doesn't bother me.

I don't think it will be real to me until I get to the hospital. I doubt I will get any sleep tomorrow night. Poor hubby is like-dag that is early! I told him that I would drive!..lol
