NSV - stairclimbing

For awhile now, my friend and I have been climbing the stairs in the skyscraper where we work. We started doing 12 flights at a time, then 20, then 20 flights twice a day, then 28 flights twice a day, etc. Most recently, and for the longest time, we've been doing 44 flights twice a day.

Today, for the first time, I did all SIXTY-TWO FLIGHTS in my building, not just once, but twice! I did it by myself since my buddy is not feeling well. The first time took me 20.5 minutes, the second time 22 minutes, but I took four phone calls (kid pseudo-crisis at home, haha).

I am feeling so good, it's hard to believe how far I've come in the nearly five months since my surgery! When we started the 12 flights once a day back in mid-March, I remember it absolutely kicked my butt. Now I can knock out 12 flights without even breathing hard or breaking a sweat. ;)

62 flights x 20 stairs per flight x 2 times = 2,480 stairs climbed today. Big NSV!!

That is simply amazing!!!!!

Way to go!

That is really cool too that you shared how you worked your way up to that. Someone could even start at just 1-2 flights a day.

Thanks ladies! Yes, you could absolutely work up to it, and wow, do I ever feel a difference in the strength and tone in my legs and butt after doing it for this long!

We are limited by what floors we have access to the stairwell, so some of our "bumps up" in levels were pretty tough, but what we had to do because that's where we could get in the stairwells. My girlfriend has a bum knee so we don't go *down* the stairs, just up. Another pair I know goes from their floor to the top of the building, then back down to the lobby and up to their floor again, so they're covering the whole building up and down.

Then there's the guy who runs the building three stairs at a time. Um, we're not at that level yet. :) And he's as noisy as hell on the metal stairs, anyway! CLOMP - CLOMP - CLOMP, you hear him coming 10 floors away!

Awesome! Wish I had some stairs at work. All I have is two cement steps up to the front door. That would be a lot of up and down to catch up with your accomplishment - LOL
