5 Days out of Surgery
Thank you all for your responses. The medications I left with were, Liquid vicoden, Carafate and Protonix for Acid. Ive been taking all of them since day 2. My gas and bloating is pretty subtle, has been since about the end of day 3. Ive noticed the sounds and movement in my tummy area and I obviously cant go off that.lol. Before surgery I would get gassy n bloated if I skipped a meal. Its like the feeling of not eating all day and u drink some water and u feel it go down until it hits your stomach, It feels like my pouch does 360's all the time. So Im eating cream of chicken A LOT.lol. Ive lost over 9 lbs so far,but Im trying to figure out if its hunger or gas? Ive not had any acid issues yet. Actually have never had them kind of issues, well heartburn 3 times when I was pregnant, but thats it.. Im taking in everything you posted and making notes. THANK YOU ALL for taking time to respond to my post, I truly appreciate it...
If you can have cream of chicken, try some other soups.....
Pea soup....bag of frozen peas, chopped sweet onion, salt, pepper....boil it for about an hour. I boiled it in chicken stock. Let it cool a little then put it all in the blender. Yummy!
Carrot soup.....bag of baby carrots...the really tiny ones, onions, cook in chicken broth until carrots are soft, salt and pepper to taste......blend it and enjoy.
To make either soup creamy, add fat-free sour cream or plain greek yogurt once they are cold.

The pain meds can also give you that bloated, gassy feeling. I got off mine the night of the surgery and felt so much better by the next morning. Have not taken anything since and really haven't felt like I needed it......well, the only thing I feel like i need it for is my hand where the IV was! But, ice is doing the trick.
