if you could do it over again
I just had my surgery a week ago, so it might be premature to say. But so far, the most wonderful thing about this is the relief from hunger. I need to eat (liquids so far), but I no longer have that bottomless pit that required frequent feeding to remain comfortable. The pre-op diet was torture, but now I'm so comfortable whether I eat or not. For me, this was the right surgery, no doubt.
Was not interested in the re-routed plumbing of the RNY. The potential for bowel obstruction around that scared me, along with potential for RH.
I have had one major post-op issue, stomach acid. I treat with meds, sometimes successfully and sometimes I get a flare-up. Even with that I would do it again.
