Three days post-op and my arm twinges
I think they pinched a nerve either by my position during surgery or putting in IV's (I had two but they poked about 6 times to find good veins). Immediately following surgery my left hand was numb. It improved every day and now it's practically back to normal. But if I lift my arm too high or lift something with it, I get twinges in my upper arm and sometimes the back of my shoulder.
Anyone else ever experience something like this during VSG or any other surgery? It feels weird. If it goes away over time, then I'm fine with it. But I hope this doesn't stick around very long. Annoying and a little unnerving (forgive the pun).
Other than that, I'm struggling to get liquids in because my tummy says NO and I get gassy pains with every other sip. But it's better than yesterday and I'm peeing ok. Yesterday was easily my worst day so far. Hoping it just keeps getting better.

We had surgery on the same day. Everyday I feel better. I'm drinking more liquids. I totally love the sugar free Popsicles. You must try. I have tried lifting my arm up really high. Last night was first night that I did not have help getting in the bed. You have to move around to get that gas down. It really hurts. Take it easy and everything will be fine.
Between the position that they may have had your arm during surgery, and gas pain****ting your shoulder and arm, AND the IV thing; I would expect some "discomfort" in your arms/arm. Give it some time.
For me, I had IV troubles, and that arm was swollen; and it took a good 7 to 10 days to work it out.... Try gentle movements a few times a day to help....and sip, walk, rest....and repeat.
