What were your gallbladder symptoms?

So, with all my other medical issues going on (I have had plantar fasciitis that has set off RSD/CRPS.  I am one of the lucky few)  Anyway, I have since decided to change PCP's because of my last one brushing off my symptoms and I have a new podiatrist.  I have also decided on a new pain management dr. to handle my case (he is out of state but has more experience and latest knowledge).
So, my new PCP saw my bloodwork results (I now have a binder with ALL medical records) and ordered new ones.  My liver enzymes and bilirubin were elevated and he wanted it rechecked. (my previous PCP said everything was normal!).  So, the new bloodwork came back with elevated bilirubin.  So, I had an abdominal u/s.  I have gallstones and they think this is what is causing the elevated bilirubin.  He sent me to a surgeon and it is recommended I have my gallbladder removed.   have been told it is like a ticking time bomb.  I can get it removed as a scheduled surgery or as an emergency.  ugh.

This was 2 weeks ago.  Now I have this pain on my left side, right under the rib cage and it wraps around to the back flank.  It isn't bad (at least for me...I deal with constant chronic pain from the CRPS and I have pain killers of some kind everyday).  From what I have read, the pain is correct but on the wrong side of my body.  Should I be worried?  I have an appt with another surgeon on Wed. (I am visiting the Seattle area for the next 4-5 weeks and maybe I can have the surgery here so my parents can help with the kids).

This is all so complicated and scary.  I risk the CRPS at best staying the same, or flaring, OR it could spread to the surgery site!  yikes!  I also have to have the surgeon work with my pain management dr. to do some preventative things.  sigh.  The LAST thing I want is the spread of CRPS!

Anyway, sorry for the book and side tracking.  LOL.  What were your symptoms?  Were they ever on the left instead the right?
Thanks!

Wow  -  sorry you have so much going on!

My gallbladder symptoms were pain on my right side just bellow my breast/rib.  The pain shot thru to the shoulder blade.

I held off from December - June so I could have both surgeries at once.

If you get to the point that you are vomiting with the attacks, then you really have to go.  Make sure you stick with a low-fat diet to avoid flare-ups!

Good luck!

YES! My pain was on the LEFT side, just below my ribs. I thought it was stomach ulcers, and I even had an endoscopy to check for ulcers. After they determined it really was my gallbladder, surgeon said the left-side stuff was known as "referred pain".

I had my gallbladder out 25 years ago, preceeded by several sleepless nights because of the pain (hurt to sit or lie down, so paced most of the night). Also had vomiting.
