I just found out that my bougie was a size 32.  A 32 French Bougie.  Is this a small pouch or a large pouch, I am hoping for a small.
Since October 18th I have lost 112 pounds,  acutally I did not starting losing the weight until around January, I had several complications and had to have another surgery and was hospitalized 3 different time and was on a ventalor  one time and each time I had lost 30 pounds only to regain the 30 pounds each time I had to go back into the hospital because of fluid.  the last time I actually gained 35 which was more that I weighed when I had the surgery.

So to celebrate my loss I bought 3 new pairs of shoes and a new purse!!!! I spent $1.00 dollar for each pound I have lost  I love my sleeve!!!

Most doctors use a 32F or 34F bougie, so it is a common size.  I certainly wouldn't consider it big...I haven't heard of a smaller size, maybe someone else has. Congrats on your loss!!  You are workin it and treating yourself to something other than food is a great way to celebrate!  Here's to hoping you are healthy and stay out of the hospital and keep rockin your sleeve!

A 32 is on the small end.  I believe they range from 30-50, although the 32-38 seem to be the most used from what I've read.

Congrats on the losses!  Good for you for rewarding yourself with something other than food.

Pouch size isn't as important as you might think, and isn't a terrific indicator of your final stomach size. Some surgeons use a different suturing technique than others, and use a larger bougie to provide more overlap tissue for suturing while still ending up with a smaller stomach pouch.

I mean "bougie size" instead of "pouch size"

Mine is a 32 and my doc considers it on the tight side.

My 32 is the only thing that has measured 32 on me in many, many years.  lol

I searched online and found that it's approx the size of a Sharpie.  The same site said there is not much difference, mm's, between 32 and 38.

Like others have said it depends on your surgeon's technique more than measurement.

In reality, it's what you do with it that matters and if you've lost 112 pounds after going through all of that surgery and water weight --  you know what you're doing!   Congrats!!!  And enjoy your new things!
