My surgery was the same day at yours. Lost 20lbs, and nothing else so far. Off and on I stress over it...thinking like "oh god..surely I'm gonna do better than this" Either way, I just keep prodding along. Protein shakes, liquid, mushy/soft foods...I know this stall can't last forever with as little as I eat. Walking 1.5 to 2 miles every day with the DH.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!
At three weeks out, I stalled for three weeks ! Then lost a bunch of weight in a week. Stalled out end of month 4 and beginning of month 5 for another couple weeks. Then lost in tiny amounts for another couple weeks....
Getting though a stall or just ounces lost ?
1. write down everything that goes into your mouth
2. look at the list. Usually I'm not getting enough protein, and or enough fluids. Increase protein, increase fluids.
3. MOVE !! Getting any exercise ? Take a walk, do an exercise video.
4. Get enough sleep, do something to de-stress.

You are doing so well! I really look up to you and the way you go about this whole process.
How closely do you watch your carbs? I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the whole carb thing after surgery and I know that there are successful VSGers who utilize varying degrees of carb control. I'm hopeful that I won't have to limit my carbs to the extreme, but am willing to do so if I have to, so I guess I'm just curious.
Wishing you continued success,
Jami

I am not as good as most here. This is how I eat:
Breakfast -- I usually have an egg scrambled with a handful of cheese on it. Or half an envelope of oatmeal with some fruit (handful of raisens or 1/4 cup fresh fruit)
Lunch protein (tuna, chicken) early on mixed w/ lofat dressing or lo fat mayo as tuna mush..... couple bites of vegies.
Dinner protein (fish, chicken, beef) couple bites of vegies (brocolli, cauliflower, artichoke, asparagus, squash....)
I will eat a bit (up to 1/8 of a cup, maybe) of some carbs, like a spoon or two of couscous, a baby potato, couple crackers... or a low fat treat ( skinny cow or WW ice cream ) for dessert. But I only do that a couple times a week.
Snacks are usually once or twice a day and consist of nuts, yogurt, string cheese, lo fat cheese, couple hand fulls of cherrios, fruit..... I try to make sure there is protein with my snack (fruit and nuts) cheese and a cracker, just cheese....
I try to eat as normally as I can for what is normal now. I try to eat healthfully and ALWAYS eat protein first.
But if it were not working for me, I guess I would be looking up how many carbs are in the tums I take every night !!! Feel free to pm me if you like !

Weigh too go away....! Nice job - hope you are enjoying life as much as I am - thrift-store shopping is fun every 25-50 lbs., right? And isn't it nice being able to eat "almost" everything - not worrying about the menu too much. Great job - keep up the good work - and give us a pix, too.
