OT Please keep dad in your thoughts...
I figure it can't hurt to have an extra fifty or 100 people thinking of him today...
My dad, Bill, went in to doc yesterday because he was "turning yellow". His skin and the whites of his eyes were horribly jaundiced. He had an ultrasound and CT scan which showed a mass at the head of his pancreas and lesions on his liver. They are pretty sure that this is pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to his liver. They will not know until either later today or tomorrow when they do a needle biopsy through an endoscope. However, one doc that came into his room today said, "The biopsy will tell us if it's stage 1 or stage 2, 3 or 4". So, this lets me know that they are DEFINITELY thinking cancer. My dad is a young 71 years old. He is an active man and happily married to my step-mom, Miriam. He does a lot of things with the church and is known as the joke guy... kids of all ages are attracted to him as he is funny, kind and always has a story to tell that will make you laugh. Please keep him and his wife in your thoughts and prayers. I may not be as close to my dad as I'd like, but I love him with all my heart. He's a good grandpa to my children and I sure would like for him to be around to see his great-grandchildren.
Thanks everyone... I may be off the grid for a while as the hospital is right down the road and I plan on being there through all of this.
Love you all!!
