I have not gotten called back, but I am an ultrasound tech and work in the women's center a lot. Let me tell you - they call back LOTS of women for additional views following a screening mammogram. Most of the time it is ok. They tend to err on the side of caution. You know how they squish your breast so hard when you're having the mammogram done, it's to try and thin the breast out as much as possible. But still sometimes breast tissue can overlap in such a way that an area can appear mass-like. What they do is bring you back in and take some pictures focussed on that area. A lot of times it goes away. If not, they will most likely do an ultrasound. Even if they do find a mass on the ultrasound, it's not necessarily bad. There are lots of benign masses.

I know it's easy to tell someone not to worry (but hard for the person to take the advice) but don't worry! Most likely it will be okay. But, if you are the type who is going to worry like crazy over this for the next two weeks, then see if you can make an appointment somewhere else and take your mammogram pictures (recent and previous) to the new place.

Sclerotherapy is just injecting saline into the spider veins. They collapse, the blood is reabsorbed and the spider veins disappear. Painless. I had it done years ago. Glad to ease your mind about the retest.

I had an area about 2" x 1" that everyone always thought was a bruise. One treatment and you wouldn't see a thing if you didn't know where to look. It was about 15 years ago. Spider veins may appear other places but not because you obliterated the first ones. I am happy to help any time.
