Regular size clothes NSV
I took my teenage daughter jeans shopping at Kohls ( and target and walmart) yesterday. She headed over to the junior's section and I wandered off in search of something to do while she and her girlfriend tried on every pair of jeans, comparing each detail and all that fun teenage stuff.
I went over to the local Avenues -- womens sizes. NOTHING FIT. IT WAS ALL TOO BIG !!!
So I went back to Kohls. I have never been able to wear their woman's size jeans, they were always cut "wrong" and wouldn't fit me.....but given my new found knowledge, I went over to the regular ladies clothing and decided to do the same. I haven't shopped for jeans in a regular size in........ummmmm well........ 25 years or more. I looked at the 20W and took them into the dressing room.....too big !!!! 18W also too big. Regular size 18 fit ! And some 16's fit !!!! OMG. I went back out there and collected myself size 16 and 18 jeans in every make. Lee, Levi, Vanderbuilt, and a few I had never heard of. Now I didn't buy any, because even on sale, $36 for jeans was not going to cut it for me right now.....BUT I am hitting up the thrift stores this week, with the knowledge of what will fit me !!!!
Slow scale these days......but happy shopping !!!!

YOU ROCK!
When I was first getting some serious weight off, I was shocked to see what I could actually fit into, because we just still have it in our heads that when we look at a garment, there's no WAY that will ever fit me!! WRONG!!
I have a store in town that I really love, and usually by the time the stuff hits the clearance rack it's usually only one of them on the rack. It's called Steinmart and I AM IN LOVE. I bought the most fun kickiest blingy jeans ever, a size 12 (about a year ago) and totally something I'd never have looked at before, cuz hey, let's get real, right? Nobody in a size 22 looks GOOD in anything. I think I was still in an 18 at the time and I just hung them up in my closet to admire and every couple weeks I'd give them a try. First barely up the butt, then up the butt but couldn't button, then could button and then zip, then could zip AND sit down comfortably, AND cross my legs and now they are saggy, but I love them! If I recall they were like $78 reg price which about choked me, but I got them for $19 and figured a new pair of anything at Walmart would be that price so I sprung in them.
I have purchased a TON of clothes that I knew weren't going to fit me at the time, but they were SO stylish and SO cheap I figured if I let it go, I'd never see it again and by golly, I wasn't going to miss out on anything like that! Plus it's great motivation!
I've hit a plateau this year, but mostly due to new boyfriend and lots of meals out, which I never did before. Granted we share most everything and I'm certainly not blaming him, but it's easier for me NOT to go out to dinner!! ;-) We've both gained 10lbs. Still happy as a clam. I think it will be easier as the weather cools down (if that can truly happen) and it's not too hot to do stuff besides float in a pool!! (Seriously we're over 30 days in a row of over 100* and today and most of this week is minimum 106).
I'm sure it's all water weight. Tee hee!
