How do they do dilation

I am 2 weeks out today and still vomiting up most liquids that go in my mouth. I am on clear liquids since being released from the hospital on the 30th. I have been to the hospital 2 times for being dehydrated my doc said he wants to admit me and go back in. I read on here about dilation what is it and how is it done. Another surgery or with an EGD? I found out after the surgery my Doc hadnt done any sleeves on lab band patients and I think this is the first time he is having this issue with a patient. He mentioned making it more like a bypass which I really dont want. Any help or suggestions? I am not nausea or having spasms the doc said the stomach is just very small due to scar tissue left by the band.

A dilation basically opens the stomach up wider where it has formed a very narrow passage. One patient (that I know of) in my surgeon's office has required one since I've been involved there. They put her under and insert a scope similar to the one they use to do Endoscopy exams, with the camera at the end to see any narrowings or blockages. Then they use a balloon kind of arrangement (sorry I don't know the technical term) to open up the narrowing.

No surgery was involved, and it wasn't full anesthesia - kind of a twilight thing. There's no incision, pain or recovery when you wake up. The patient in my practice required this procedure twice to fully open the restricted area (they had warned her it might take more than once). She's doing fine now.

Sounds like fluids and maybe being admitted could really help you at this stage since you are vomitting up liquids.  It really sucks that you are having these issues.  I'm no help with the dilation question, but others on here have had it done.  I've also read about other people having scar tissue and a small sleeve after a band revision.  I think they are doing well from what I remember reading.  There's hope for you!

I don't have much advice, but to hang in there and work closely with your surgeon's team to get this resolved.

Thank you so much for your response. I am not sure how much my doctor knows of this but I want to be able to tell him before he does another surgery. Thank you
