Singing Praise for OH VSG forum
Yesterday I had my pre op class - and it appears I was the only one who has really done her homework on this whole process. I was talking to a gal who is to get sleeved on the 24th, she hadnt read her binder nor done anything I had suggested. OY!
I brought up the taking of your pillow to the hospital with you, the medical ID bracelet, etc. The RN and the dietitian both said - well obviously someone has done her homework and is ready for this surgery.
I dont get how someone could go into something so life changing as this and not want to educate themselves!
On a side note: my surgeon recommended a 20lb pre op loss and me being the over achiever that I am was shooting for 30. Well as of today I am one pound away!!!

That is EXACTLY how I felt because I had joined this such a long time ago, and although I suggested it to my class some of the people thought that the "name" of the sight was negative in nature. What??! WOW! Who cares about the name of the sight? (well I guess they did) We are obese, right? And regardless, why would that keep you from a community who is so on top of this surgery? I don't know.
It really helped me, and as far as I am concerned, has been the BEST support and resource for me on this journey. It's an awesome place and the people are wonderful. So thank you, to those of you who can look beyond a web address name and be a part of this!
