Got my surgery date. YAY! But with 3 kids to care for????

Hello Everyone. I just got my Surgery date of Sept 6th. I am so thrilled. Any last minute things I should know about surgery day or right after? I have 3 kids, 9 yrs - 3 yrs and 22 months. I am hoping all my supportive family and friends are there when I really need them. I have a hard time asking for help but I know I will need it for atleast a couple of weeks. Anyone else deal with the same thing?

 I have four kids and did just fine, I only needed my hubs to stay home with me for three days, and then I packed  him off to work (I wanted him out of my hair LOL). You have time to do a lot of prep work to help yourself, make and freeze cassarols, lunches, even breakfasts. Get easy things that your 9 year old can help you with, like making waffles or PB&J's and make sure he/she can do them now so that they can help you get the little one's fed. Stock your pantry with easy to get to snacks etc. 

Stock up on disposable plates, bowls and utensils, make sure all the laundry is done before surgery so you don't have to worry about dishes and clothes for at least the first week. 

Don't be afraid to ask for help, people are often more willing to help then we know! Good luck.

I was just sleeved and have 3 kiddos too , ages 7, 3 and 22 months. I'm lucky in the fact that my husband is a teacher so he has been off work and he is really good about running the show while I'm recovering. I had to stay extra time in the hospital and was so exhausted by the time I got home that I was thankful that he was there to deal with everything.

I agree on stocking up on disposable items, premade or prepared foods, stuff that's easy for your kids to help themselves too. Maybe preplan the meals for that week for the rest of the family so thats one less thing you have to deal with. Good luck! You'll be just fine!
