thanks for being harsh
THanks so much for your post Lynww666 =) I am feeling the same exact way you are. I had surgery on 7/19/11. Gained 8 lbs in hospital. 1st week lost the 8 pounds and 20 more over 3 weeks(down 20 from surgery). Last week only lost 2 lbs and this week I gained 1 lb and finally lost that but nothing else. The scary thing is that I saw my surgeon Friday and he wants me losing 5-7 lbs a week for the next 2 months. I am following the plan to a "T". I guess I just wait it out. I know your frustration all to well though because it just doesn't make sense....I am eating 600 calories a day......it should come off!!!
It was great how fast those pounds of swelling went down after coming from hospital and then more weight seemed to drop off... it makes it tough when it slows down at all, doesn't it.
My surgeon did not give me any specific goals, just said to expect it mainly to be down with a few stalls over the next few months because the body's systems sometimes have to readjust.
Also (TMI?) I wish I were more regular but with only protein there's not much roughage going in so right now I feel I might be carrying extra pounds in my intestines but I will keep drinking lots of liquids in the hopes of getting all my systems back on track.
He also said that if I didn't eat enough (he was pushing for closer to the 700-750 calorie range) things could slow down as well so I think I'll try to get in an extra dose of Boost or something each day to keep both protein and calories at a level that don't scare my body into thinking all food supplies in the world have disappeared!
It's hard being so new to this but if there is one thing I keep hearing from the success stories, it's to just keep on and the weight will go... not always smoothly and not every day, but it will go.
Keep the faith baby!
Lynn
