infection?!
so i went shopping the last 2 days and wore pants (i dont wear shorts cause of my weight). and i didnt realize i was sweating much, but im sure i was. it was like 100 degrees here....anyway, when i got home last night and showered i was itching under my left breast and between my lower belly roll and my thigh. i always put powder there every day to keep it dry. but it was itching last night then when i itched it, it felt like it was burning. so i looked in the mirror and its a bright pink rash looking thing, the size of both my hands. under my breast and my crotch area. is it chaffing? or a yeast infection? ive never had this before. it looks nasty. im a very clean person! how do you know which one it is? i put powder on it this morning but that didnt help. so i put antifungal cream OOC tonight. hoping that wll help. anyone get this before? any advice is greatly appreciated. im scared its an infection that will prevent me from having surgery?! yikes!
sounds to me like a bit of break down of the skin. Does it have an odor to it? Try putting Lotrimin (stuff for athletes foot) on it if it doesn't get any better. I had this alot when I was heavier and it has nothing to do with how clean or unclean you are, just the "folds" don't get the air they need and it can cause a break down, especially if it is a moist area where you sweat. I used to get them alot under my boobs and my pani.
Sadly, I haven't had them lately and kinda wish I did because then I could maybe get my insurance to pay for some plastics

hmm.ive been this weight awhile, and i have never had this happen. it does not have an odor to it. its just shiny pink, a tiny bit moist and very red and warm. and looks like it may peel. it was a little itchy last night. i put antifungal cream on it last night, but does not look like it helped much! insurance is a pain!
It happens to most of us. what I do is clean it (showering) pat it dry and apply petroleum jelly it blocks the moisture. It should help clear up that itchy redness overnight but its uncomfortable. Just keep the area as dry as possible. It shouldnt affect your surgery prospects. Oh and document any of that it will help you in the long run. If you continue to have these issues after surgery it will be helpful to document everything so if you have loose skin that is irritated or anythign like that you can get those areas fixed covered under your medical insurance rather than cosmetic.
cool. thanks for the advice. i hate to pay 50 to see the doctor just to show it to him to have evidence, knowing that insurance will fight it anyway! lol unless i have some flesh eating bacteria thats gonna kill me in 24 hours, they prolly wont cover it! :-) but thanks for the petroleum jelly trick. i thought that would make it moist but i guess its different
