Nova Scotia Canada questions
I was wondering if there is anyone out there that is from Nova Scotia or Canada that has gone to Mexico to be the sleeved and ran into medical problems. While there and when you returned to Canada does our health care cover us once we are home even though we went out of country for surgery. Is there a private insurance company that will cover us in Mexico knowing we are going for surgery?? Any input is appreciated as I am planning on going in Jan .
I don't know the answer to that question myself because health care is legislated provincially (I'm in Manitoba). You could ask that question over on the Nova Scotia forum. Look under Forums / International / Nova Scotia. Someone there will probably know the specifics you're looking for.
You could always fire off an e-mail to Nova Scotia Health.
Good luck!!

I went to Mexico in January to have my sleeve done, I am from Saskatchewan. I went through a company called Weight Loss Forever, they are based in Saskatoon but have offices in both Sask and Alta. They took care of everything. I ended up having a leak and had to have emergency surgery 1.5 days after my initial one, and everything was taken care of. Everything from flights to insurance and additional support. My doctor at home now takes great care of me. I can't answer any specific questions about Nova Scotia, but I know Weight loss Forever helps people from all over. They are a wonderful group of people. Their website might offer you some more info. Hope that helps a bit! Good luck!
