The Sleeve and Luck
OK...... my turn to vent....everybody seems to be doing it.....
Is it just me????
Or is there a whole new crop of new peeps having surgery that are not educated/prepared/ready.....
Seems like lots of "less than smart" behaviors going on......either surgeons not doing there job with instructions or patients not absorbing basics ????
Seems like a lot of people relying on the performance of the VSG and a whole lotta luck!!!!
Just tellin it like I see it......
Flame on !!!

Hey George,
Chicken Wings is my favorite !!!!!
And yah..... Big popcorn movement going on !!!!
The other thing is..... why do people think their cravings are more powerful than everyone elses????
We were all Dorito eatin fat people..... How the hell am I supposed to be symithatic to someone who says they are addicted to carbs......ah.....90+% of us were addicted to sugars of some sort...what makes them think there addiction is stronger than everyone elses.....sure there is gonna be some that are.....but how do you know if it's just different degrees of commitment ?

I completely agree.
Just yesterday I walked down the chip isle at the grocery store and noticed Doritos were on sale. I wa**** with a strong desire to buy the Doritos, at 2 years post-op I know I could eat some without much of a problem. At 2 years post-op I also know that eating carbs is a slippery slope leading to more carb cravings. I also know that I feel junky after eating carbs and that I made a commitment to eat better and keep carbs at less thaqn 40 grams per day.
Success with the VSG has a lot to do with commitment to the process, following your doctors plan and changing bad habits.

Now that i am 80+ pounds down, i have everyone and their mother asking me about the surgery..but i am finding that if i say go on OH or research, or start learning about the surgery because it is not my decision to make for you, these same people kind of shrug me off. Only my one cousin has gone through the steps and now has a surgery date. But it kind of urks me because i spent so much time learning and doing this on my own. I just feel it is unfair that i worked and am continuing to work towards my goal, and others just want the solution without solving the problem.
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
