well im 2 weeks out and have done great Ive lost a total of 20 pounds since surgery.I have been folowing the  diet packet the dr office gave me and also looked at one from the link on here ,its the exact same one,I foloowed it.Well the dr assitant told me I am her only patient that did not loose 30 to 40 pounds 1st 2 weeks and screamed at me because I was eating more than just protien shakes ,water ,popsicles and pudding. Then she suggested I see my pcp for diet pills, what a buthead, andyways she claims that by eating soft food stage as it says im putting myself in danger of a  leak, even though ive had no pain or issues other than  some acid and everything even though its been on soft stage has  always been chewed to nothing.

YOU DO WHAT YOUR DOCTOR TOLD YOU, NOT THE ASS  ISTANT.  TELL THE DOCTOR YOU ARE NOT HAPPY.  20 LBS IS GREAT NO MATTER HOW YOU OR ANYONE ELSE LOOKS AT IT.  YOU ARE WORKING YOUR SLEEVE.

Wow, then she would have been really pissed at me since I am WAY farther out then you and have only (said with sarcasm) lost 19 lbs. You are doing great, just keep following your instructions and let the doctor know exactly what this woman said to you!

You are doing fine, and I started on soft about 2 weeks out too. Good for you gettin ur surgery FINALLY! How was your hospital stay? Mine was a nightmare! Good luck to you!
Think positive, and all ur hopes and dreams will follow!

I hope your hospital stay wasn't horrible due to bad nursing care.

Why would a rude medical office assistant have anything to do with the nursing care she received in the hospital?  Registered Nurses are not the same as medical office assistants.  RNs have 2-6 years of training, MOAs have 6 weeks.  Just an FYI.

I do not know why I said that.  Probably because I work at that hospital on that floor as an RN for the last 5 yrs. I know the education requirements. I have a Bachelor's in Biology and an Associates's in Nursing. I went to the accelerated Nursing program @ Our Lady of the Lake College it took about 9 months. FYI. I was out on leave at the time though because I had my surgery on 8/11/11. You would be surprised when we get our scores back how different things fall back on the nurses. From pain management, to housekeeping, to not understanding what the dr stated.

That assistant is a freaking moron and you really need to talk to your surgeon about her.
