I have several NFL and college football games I will be attending. Any ideas of what I can have on hand and not feel like I can't enjoy myself like the others who will be eating and partying.

I make Rachel Ray's spitfire shrimp for this very reason (if you don't like hot stuff, just reduce the amount of it)!  You can also make some ham/cream cheese/swiss cheese roll ups.  Slice up some cheese and have some meat sausage bites.  Make little weenies with a touch of lite grape jam and bbq sauce mixed together.  Deviled eggs.

Get creative with the yummy protein things you can have!

I am going to a picnic this weekend. I am bringing cucumber bites (like crackers) topped with hummus.

This is the hard part--because our nation (I'm guessing the entire world) celebrates EVERYTHING with food!

Death, wedding, birth, retirement, anniversary, bon voyage, and yes, FOOTBALL! Everything centers around food!

Now that I've started this message I don't remember seeing how far postop you are, but celebrate the PEOPLE, not the food! You can sample a bite of whatever everyone is eating you know, you just aren't sitting down to a plate. It's taken 2 years but I like it now that I'm not centered on what I'm eating, I still love preparing for others. Food=love. It's just that food hates some people, and some people can't control food. That would be me. But now I am in control and I LOVE IT.

Enjoy football! It's a long season.......

Well right now I am 5 weeks out but football starts this weekend......but I won't start going to the games until October 1st. I was thinking about the biggest event which will be Fla/GA which of course will be an all day event of binge and purge for many people that I will be with. I wouldn't mind having a ****tail either (wink wink). I did think of the deviled eggs and meatballs. It will be hard on me I think.....but I will test myself at a JAG game prior. Thanks for responding.

All of the suggestions are great!  I know I might get blown up for this but if you are going to have a ****tail just try to keep it as low calarie as possible. Diet Cranberry for example.  Im going to honest I am almost 3 months out and I have had a few with my friends while we were out of town.  I just tried to keep the calories down.  Also, make SURE you don't have to drive cause it doe**** you differently.   Also, about the food.... you know what makes me feel better is watching everyone else eat and thinking of how many calories they ate that I didn't!!  It's sometimes amazing to watch cause that would have been me right next to them chowing down.  Now I can't and I am sooooooo greatful!!

On a different note!!  I live in California and I have family in Georgia. My Dad and sister are flying out to Florida just for that game!!  Hope you have fun!!
