I didn't get any information from support groups...my information on food and the various stages all came directly from my surgeons office.  They should be giving you this information..and if they haven't..i highly suggest you call them and ask them for that information.

at 3 weeks i was eating:

light string cheese, fresh soft mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, mini light babybel cheese, scrambled eggs, crustless quiche, greek yogurt, chili topped with cheese and greek yogurt in place of sour cream, and of course- protein shakes!

you generally should be good running food through a processor as long as it is fairly smooth

You shouldn't have to guess...my surgeon's office AND the hospital I chose had an excellent plan and I had to meet with a Dietician/Nutritionist who went over the whole program BEFORE my surgery. There are things you have to do every two or so weeks....liquid, pureed, soft, regular.....there are stages. Your surgery isn't until December...in the meantime I would buy the books "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies", "Weight Loss Surgery Cookbooks for Dummies" as well as meeting with the Nutritionist who will set you up on a program.

Until you know all the facts, what you have to do, what you can eat, everything....don't do anything.
But you have a ton of time to do research. Not just here....at your hospital support group, surgeon's office, reading.

Also, when you need supplies Diet Direct is a great place to buy protein supplies. www.dietdirect.com has everything from vitamins to protein meals and shakes.

Best of Luck.......S

Just to give you an idea of what is allowed by my surgeon, here is a link to his plan.  There is an awful lot of info in it, but you can break out what he allows by the weeks...  Good luck with your prep.
