Your scale Vs. Your dr's scale

Just curious, I am adamant on going by MY scale at home versus my doctor's scale. For instance at ,y one month check up I weighed myself at home and it said 290. I go to the dr's and their scale says 296. Yes I know you may weigh less different times of the day etc etc. But I am wondering if anyone uses their scale as their true weight or the dr's? I weighed myself today  on my scale and I weigh 280! I am super pumped, but I know that his scale will probably not say that! I am sort of stir crazy right now... lol

Excellent question!

So regular store bought scales, in my opinion always run between 5 and 10 pounds under a Dr. Scale.

Then I met Wii Fit. If it is on a firm surface (not carpet) and if I weigh myself afternoon or early evening, I am within 2 pounds of my Dr's scale.

I finally decided I just needed to know what I was going to approximately be on his scale. Whether I'm really 5 pounds less or not, it keeps my sanity LOL.

But I don't think there is a big difference, you still know what you lost right? That's the big part! And you aren't crazy, I haven't met a scale yet that was the same as my Dr's office...

If you want to use your Wii Fit on the carpet, you can...you just need to put on those 4 little feet adapters that came with it. Then it is accurate on carpet too!

Mine runs about 5 lbs less than Dr.'s and I go by mine.  Because that is the one I'm using everyday to keep myself in check.  Plus I know I weighted at least 5 lbs more than my surgeons starting weight.  It's a preference thing.

Everyone makes their own decisions. My decision is not to have a scale at home (except for a food-scale). I will be weighed at the doctor's office and no-where else.

My clothes are getting more and more loose and that is enough for me. I spent too many years of my life caring about the scale.

That is just me. I know some have made the same choice as me and that others have not. That is life.

I just go by mine, for continuity... I don't really care about the specific number.. I just want to make sure I'm going by ONE scale, since they all seem to be possessed of their own evil mind.

I go by my own scale because when i weigh at my drs office its never naked and im not always wearing the same clothes. especially as the seasons change from lighter to heavier....

I weigh when i get first get up in the morning and my drs appointments can be all different times of the day so for me its easier for me to just take my weight from home..

Commercial scales need to be calibrated and approved.....no variables. Every State has Weights and Measures Dept. so we don't get Jipped at the store.
Most Medical facilities are required to have registered scales also......

So.... All scales should not read differently.....there is a true baseline. It's up to us as consumers to get a scale were comfortable with......

I just figured..... another $150 to the price of this whole process was cheap for and accurate "Tool" I was gonna use for many years !!!!

Lets face it....We all have a life long hate for the scale......Let the scale become your Friend !!!!

Get a good scale....it's so worth it !!!!

I go by my scale, not my PCPs.  I only see her a couple times a year, but I weigh myself at home every morning after first whiz.  Hers is 4 lbs more than mine.  I don't care much.  140 or 144, it's still a frickin' miracle.
