Cleanse?

I'm about 9 months out and I was wondering if anyone has done the Lemonade Diet or any other colon cleanse. Is there one that is safer than the other? Are we even able to do them?

Thanks for any help!

Hey girlie..

Sure we *can* do cleanses, but I would ask you why do you need to cleanse?  If you have intestinal stuff you really should see your doctor.

If you are asking because you want to jump start a weight loss issue, then there are really better alternatives. Master Cleanse is crazy with maple syrup, and simple sugars with no protein really is not so good for much of anyone.

Let us know what is going on, and if you are having medical stuff with your intestines, please go and see a doctor!  You have to take care of you!

Brandilynn and I share the same views on these type of issues. If it's medical, get to your doc.

If you're just wanting to flush your system, there are better alternative.

Honestly, I was just curious. I actually used to do the colonix cleanse...this isn't anything health related that would require a doctor.

I was just thinking about going back on liquid for a short while, but I was kind of looking around at some of the other cleanses and was curious. :-)

This is just my thought process. Going back on liquids only, cleanses, diet pills, herbalife, hydroxycut is not going to give you what you want long term, and it's just going to perpetuate the cycle of "fad dieting" and up and down on the scale again. I figured I did enough of that crap to my body back in the day. If it's about losing weight, or getting back on track, while it's not fun, cut carbs, and push protein and liquids. Our poor bodies have been through so much, our poor metabolisms would just like a shot in hell to not be screwed with so I'm a firm believer on not putting my body through anymore torture.

If I need to lose weight, I go back to what I was giving me results through my losing stage. That's my plan after I deliver this little nugget of joy in a few weeks. I'll go straight back to low carb, high protein and then work back into my maintenance mode of caloric/protein intake.

But, there is no medical reason you can't do it. I just think after surgery our bodies deserve better.
