For me, warm liquids felt better than cold, so I sipped alot of herbal, caffeine free teas.  I'm surprised you are chewing vitamins right now....I was 2 weeks out before allowed to chew vitamins, or anything at that.
Every day will get better!
Congrats,

I was sleeved wed. 9/28th and released yesterday 9/30th. I was told to take my chewable vitamin today, b12 mine are daily not weekly, vicodin as needed, I can resume my chewable vit c, and I was given zofran for nausea every 6hrs as needed (i'm greatful for the zofran b/c I have had a little nausea. and then of course my thryoid med. and celebrex for the pain above my left rib cage. Doc said that's where the liver was lifted and usually causes alot of pain and also for the area where I had the JP drain.  I was sent home advised to get at least 32oz of fluid a day to prevent dehydration and to attempt 60 grams of protein a day to prevent musscle wasting. I was also sent home with and incentive spirometer especially helps since I have a cough that i never got rid of before surgery.

I've been sipping isopure and water. both feel a little weird going down sometimes the water feels like I gulped it and I'm only letting it drizzle down my throat. Oh and last nite chicken broth/ bouillon cubes never tasted better with a little plain protein added. I'm still stressing the whole thing of getting at least 32oz + a day. But I'm sure I will get there. Did you doc say if you can have SF popsicles during your clear liquid phase since you like ice.
I think my most complaint is the gas pain in the shoulder which is starting to feel better, and my ass hurts from the recliner and hospital bed. I try to walk my house as much as possible to help with that also. Today I'm going to get a shower since I only sponge bathed yesterday...I'm feeling ucky from all that.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations on a successful surgery!  Keep walking.  Gas can make it feel as if it is coming up as well. I haved found that gas can mask itself in different ways.  If you walk, you can feel it start moving especially if you feel pain.

I like calling North Carolina home!!!  Go Tarheels!

Yes, the ice does count toward your fluids. So do ice pops. As for protein,  I was told to have 1/2 bottle of Isopure a day for the protein.  It was suggested that I make ice cubes with the Isopure and put the cubes in my water.  One bottle of Isopure made 28 ice cubes, so I am trying to get in 14 per day.  Diluting the Isopure makes it not taste bad at all.  I was sleeved on Wednesday, 9/28.

Keep hydrated, get the protein in and rest.  As for vitamins, the nurse at my doctor's office said I should not start them until week 3.
