4 Year lapbander having reverse to Sleeve
Hello. I'm a 4year post op lapbander! YAY! I haven't been on here in awhile! I lost about 120lbs from the band/eating right/excerise! 4 years later and 1 child birth down the line my band is no longer working. I haven't been able to have any restrictions with the band. Filled as tight as possible! so now I'm going under the knife to have it removed and have the vertical sleeve done OCT 21st. I gained about 40lbs back and it is just rising! Just would like to get some feedback from anyone who has had the removal of the band and than the sleeve. I switched surgeons as well. I was told that if I have too much scar tissue I will have to have the band removal than the sleeve done. EEK the tought of going under twice is terrible! So anyone who has had this done I would love to have some insight! Thanks so much!
I had my lap band for just under 3 years. You've been far more successful with yours than I was with mine though!
I lost about 65 lbs in my first year with the band...then I had complications and spent the rest of the time regaining all that weight back before my revision.
I had my band removal and sleeve done in the same surgery and I was lucky that everything went smoothly with no complications.
Best of luck with your revision,
Lindsey

GREAT to hear! I'm just really hoping I can get all done in the same day as well! I really do not want to go under twice! I would like to save the second for some skin removal! :) Did you have any scar tissue when the band was being removed? I also get keloids so that is another reason which makes me nervous because I know my healing is very quick and the forming of scar tissue is really fast!
GREAT to hear!! Makes me smile when I hear no complications! I'm just very nervous about having to go under twice. I really pray I can get both at the same time with no issues. Like I replied above I get keloids so my scar tissue forms very quick and thick which is such a bummer! How has your weight loss been since 9/6?
