is this even possible?
so i realize that the first few weeks is mostly water weight loss, but i'm actually concerned that something is wrong? i seem to be losing wayyyy to fast? here's my stats, please tell me your thoughts....
sept. 1 last pre op visit with surgeon 280
sept. 8 start 3 week liquid diet 278.4
sept. 28 day before surgery 263.8
oct. 3 4 days after surgery 248.8
how is that even possible? i guess i haven't had any calories in 6 days since day before surgery was clear liquids, but still... is this safe? it's freaking me out!

Seems totally reasonable to me. I lost 21 lbs in 7 days from my surgery day. So, I would not worry at all.
(My Dr. doesn't require the 3 week liquid diet, but the liquid diet afterward is where I lost the weight... so it stands to reason that that you would lose alot during that part too)
Good luck!

thanks charlie, was totally ready to call my doc's emergency number. lol. now that i'm actually feeling better the hypochondriac in me kicks in and i start convincing myself that something is wrong (fast heart rate, blood clot, etc...). sometimes i need someone to pull me back into reality. thanks for being that person!
You are certainly welcome. I understand being worried. There is alot going on inside your abdomen right now, and it can be a little scary. However, sticking to the Drs plan will get you where you want to be. I followed mine to the letter and never had one complication or issue. (Other than throwing up twice - once because I ate too much too fast, the other was because I think my sleeve wasn't ready for hard boiled egg yet, even though the Dr said it should be ok. Waited a week and egg was fine)
I am now 33 days post op, and 33.4 lbs down! Just got cleared for exercise, and am sitting here now speaking with my wife about a gym membership.
Good job with asking, be sure to ask when something doesn't seem right. I learned ALOT from folks on here, and continue to do so. (By the way, get ready for the 3 week stall... Happened to me, and it sucked. Lasted the entire week, so in those 33 days of 33 lbs, it was actually 33 lbs in 26 days!)
Be sure to track your measurements too. Because during my stall, not a single lb came off, but 3 inches did from my waist! That made it much easier to bear!
Good luck and see you around on the forum here!

that's the thing, i've only been home for 2 1/2 days and still cannot get in more than 24 ounces of water, have no urge for anything bu****er, tried sugar free jello and stomached (parden the pun) about 2 bites of it. sugar free popsicles are good but can't finish a whole one. i'm not allowed protein shakes or anything but clear liquids until at least thursday due to a complication during surgery. the thing that sucks is that i'm hungry, yet feel full at the same time. so strange. i did get 3/4 of multivitamin in today versus 1/3 yesterday; as well as 3 out of my 4 tums and 1 out of my 2 prilosecs mixed with 1/2 tsp yogurt. need to plan and space out my fluid/meds better for tomorrow. i know it's a process, but for a perfectionist it's so difficult to not get it right out of the gate!
