I'm so happy for you.  You are doing great so far!  Family meals are the hardest part and you hit it out of the park!

Thank you, thank you!! My husband doesn't like to eat in front of me - he feels too bad.  But l have a passion for cooking, and l love to give everyone healthy, home-cooked food.  Food is around every day, every minute. So l'd better learn how to deal.  l get through just fine knowing that l'll get to eat again, and plus l've spent a lifetime abusing it.  But the hunger is manageable which makes takes away alot of the sting;)

I still enjoy food and family and friend dinners and restaurants, just so much smarter now.  I'm a big believer in people not changing their lives to adapt to my surgery.  I'll find things that are good for me at every meal and know when to say when.  I focus on the social aspect more than food and it's fun.  One of my male friends doesn'y know about my sleeve and has sat near me at several Sunday dinners and hasn't noticed anything strange about eating habits.  You'll start to adapt your fav recipes to healthier and your family will benefit to.   You'll do great.  PS tell your sweet hubby to get over it and eat already!

lol!  l've got him over it.  l've been cooking like nothing is different and he's better now.  He IS much more conscious of his choices, though. lol!!  l also won't be drinking broth and applesauce forever.  l feel the same as you do - l made this choice for ME, not everyone around me.  l've always focused on the mood and people more than the food, so l don't have to worry about that as much.  l love that you fit right in with no one noticing, too.

ps.. l even made them all eggs and pancakes for breakfast, but they were whole grain ;)

That's great!  So, you're feeling good, too?

l was only on clear in the hospital. l'm on full liquid, with clear if l want.  l love the broth because it helps get fluids in.  Nothing else tastes good to me.  l've tried cream soups, sf jello, sf pudding, etc. l take that back - Cream of Wheat tastes good, also.. Everything else tastes really weird to me now.  l never liked sugarfree stuff, either.  Soon we'll be dining on Frisco-style foods and loving every minute of it!!
